Bihar Post Matric Scholarship 2023-24: Under Bihar Post Matric Scholarship Scheme, scholarship is given for financial assistance to economically weaker sections (EWS) students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class (BC and EBC). Scholarships are awarded under this programme to students enrolled in properly accredited colleges, universities, or institutes. Both the Central Government and the State Government contribute funds for scholarships.

What is Bihar Post Matric Scholarship (PMS)?

Bihar Post Matric Scholarship means scholarship given after Matric (Class 10th) which we know as Post Matric Scholarship (PMS).
As the name suggests, Post Matric means courses done after Matric like Intermediate (10+2), ITI, Diploma, Paramedical, B,A. B.Sc and B.Com Etc.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for the Post Matric scholarship Bihar:

The candidate has to live in Bihar permanently.
Within the state of Bihar, the applicant must be enrolled in Post Matric courses at any authorised government or non-government institution. These include Inter, Graduation, Post Graduate (PG), ITI, Three Year Diploma/Polytechnic, B.Ed., Medical, Engineering, Law, Management, and Agricultural.
The applicant needs to have received at least 50% of the possible points on the last class exam.
Bihar Post Matric Scholarship applications are open to students who fall into the SC, ST, Backward Class (BC), and Extremely Backward Class (EBC) categories and whose parent(s)’ combined annual income does not exceed Rs. 3,00,000/-.
There shouldn’t have been any other scholarships awarded to the applicant for the same course from any other source.

Method of Scholarship Distribution

In order to ensure timely payment of scholarship amount to the beneficiaries, the State Government/UT administrations are requested to avoid cash payment of scholarship amount and are required to issue instructions to all concerned that payment of scholarship should be made to beneficiaries through their accounts in post offices/banks.The States/UTs should adhere to the DBT mode. The States and UTS should guarantee that scholarships are awarded through bank accounts linked to Aadhaar.

Application Process

To apply online for the Bihar Post Matric Scholarship for students in Bihar who are BC, EBC, SC, or ST, take the following steps:

1. Visit the official Post Matric Scholarship website at http://pmsonline.bih.nic.in/ and click on the “Student registration” option located on the homepage.

2: Complete the application by following the guidelines provided by the system, then hit the “Save” button.

3. Your login credentials will be sent to you through email or SMS as soon as your student registration is approved.

4. To access the PMS portal, enter your email address, mobile number, or student login name.

5. Complete the application form by entering all required information and press the “Save” button.

6. can and upload the original documents as PDF files (150 KB in size) to the website.

7. Complete your Post Matric Scholarship application and select “Print” to get a copy for your records.
