The University Grant Commission, in partnership with MHRD, has introduced the Ishan Udhay Scholarship for NER to support higher education in the NER region. The primary goal of the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship for NER is to support students in their pursuit of general degree programs, technical courses, and professional courses with financial aid to improve their future. The primary goal of this scholarship is to raise the gross enrollment ratio for NER students in addition to providing final support.

To assist students who are economically unstable and are members of NER, the Ministry of HRD and the University Grants Commission established the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship. August marks the annual introduction of the scholarship program. The department wants to raise the nation’s literacy rate or close the achievement gap between pupils with and without education.

Number Of Scholarship
At the start of the academic year, the relevant authority announces approximately 10,000 new scholarships annually. The registrar, principal, or director of the university, college, or institute may certify courses for general degree programs, technical degree programs, professional degree programs, and medical paramedical programs. Students from the NER region are eligible to apply for the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship to pursue higher education.
Scholarship Rewards
To be eligible for the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship, you must meet the requirements listed below.
Scholars enrolled in ordinary courses would receive a monthly grant of Rs. 5,400.
Candidates who engage in professional and technical courses will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 7,800.
The candidates’ bank accounts will receive the scholarship money directly using the direct bank transfer method (DBT).
Benefits and Features of the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship
The Ministry of HRD and the University Grants Commission wish to support higher education for economically disadvantaged students in the North Eastern Region (NER) who are unable to pay for it.
For deserving students, the program will provide 1000 scholarships.
Every year in August, the MHRD and UGC launch the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship to provide funding for postsecondary study.
The monthly payment for those who register for standard degree degrees is Rs. 5400.
The monthly stipend for those participating in professional programs, such as medical and paramedical programs, is Rs 7800.
The benefitted students will get the funds through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
With the help of this scholarship, NERegion students will have an equal opportunity to pursue higher education.
The student’s gross enrollment ratio will increase as a result of receiving this scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
You must meet the following requirements to apply for the ISHAN UDAY Scholarship.
Under the program, only undergraduate students are eligible to apply.
The North Eastern Region must be the candidate’s primary residence.
The applicant must be a graduate of any accredited college or university in the Eastern Region, including NIOS, CBSE, and ICSE.
The applicant must have enrolled in professional general education or technical courses at a college with UGC approval.
Candidates are eligible to receive this award if they have been accepted into integrated courses.
A family’s annual income shouldn’t be greater than Rs. 4.5 lakhs.
Non-Eligible Candidates
The following applicants are ineligible for this program:
Individuals enrolled in courses offered by Open University
The applicant who is currently receiving funding to pursue an undergraduate degree
The applicants admitted using the management quota system
A candidate enrolled in diploma programs that do not result in a degree
Pupils whose parents earn more than Rs. 4.5 lakh annually
