Central Sector Scholarship Requirements for 2023

MHRD will make available the scholarship benefits only to those applicants who fulfill the required eligibility requirements. Therefore, before applying for the CSSS scholarship award, all applicants must understand the eligibility requirements. Students who meet the following criteria can apply for the Central Sector Scholarship Program in 2023:

• Applicants for the scholarship must have obtained a Grade Point Average (GPA) above the 80th percentile in Class XII in the appropriate field from a specific examination board.
• A candidate must be enrolled in a traditional course and not in a course offer through correspondence or distance education.
• The combined annual family income of the candidate should be less than Rs.8 lakh.

Central Sector Scholarship – Award

Central Sector Scholarship offers a total of 82,000 scholarships every year. 50% of the scholarship is earmarks for girl candidates and the remaining 50% for boy candidates. All these scholarships are distribute to the State Education Boards on the basis of population in the age group of 18-25 years in the respective State after separating the share of CBSE and ICSE. In addition, the scholarship allotment to the state education boards is divide in the ratio of 3:2:1 among the passed students of Science, Commerce and Arts respectively. Selected students receive the scholarship amount simply in their account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. Graduation	Annual scholarship amount of Rs 10,000 for the first three years of graduation. In case of 5-year integrated course (vocational studies), students are given Rs 20,000 per annum during the fourth and fifth year of study. If the students are pursuing technical courses like B.Tech., B.Engineering, then the scholarship is given up to the graduation level.

छात्रवृत्ति की केंद्रीय क्षेत्र योजना वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक परीक्षा के परिणामों के आधार पर प्रदान की जाती है।

• हर साल 82000 नई छात्रवृत्तियां प्रदान की जाती हैं। इनमें से 41000 लड़कों के लिए और 41000 लड़कियों के लिए हैं।

The five-year eligibility period for this merit-plus-means awardee includes the time from graduation and beyond. The registration process for the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme is very convenient. For the ease of the students, MHRD has made the CSS Scholarship application online. Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by registering online at the National Scholarship Portal. Candidates can follow the steps given below to register online for CSSS Scholarship:

• Initially, the applicants have to register themselves on the National Scholarship Portal.
• Give all the details like name, school name, contact number, email id etc. to register online. A Student Application ID and a Password are created on the registered email ID.
• Now, applicants need to login to NSP using the newly generate ID and Password. An OTP is sent to the register mobile number using which the applicants has to change his/her security password.
• After changing the password, candidates are simply to the applicant’s dashboard page, where applicants need to click on ‘Application Form’ to start the application process.
• Then start filling all the mandatory fields in the application form like personal details, academic details, contact information etc.
• After that, the candidates have to upload the required documents and certificates as well as one passport size photograph in the same prescribed format.
