What is Inspire Scholarship?
INSPIRE or Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research is a program created by the Central Government in India to support the dreams of students who want to pursue a career in science and technology. For students who have to struggle due to lack of money and eventually have to give up on their dreams, this scholarship will keep their dreams safe. Apart from this, the scheme also provides internships and awards to the students who have excelled in this field. The INSPIRE scheme has three parts, the first being talent identification, scholarships for further education and finally research opportunities.

Inspire Scholarship 2023: Financial Incentives
80000 per year and Rs.5000 per month, the total value will be Rs.60000 and a summer attachment fee of Rs.20000 will be paid as mentorship every year for a summer research project under an active researcher. The scheme was launched on 13 November 2008. At that time the financial budget allocated for this scheme was 1979.25 crores. Under this scheme the students get continuous financial support for the next 5 years from the selection. It helps all the students who want to study science and technology. It has three programmes:
- Scheme for quick attraction of talent or seats,
- Scholarship for Higher Education or SHE, and
- Assured opportunities for research career or AORC.

Objective of the Inspire Scholarship
Education becomes difficult for students when they do not have any financial backup. The Government of India continuously runs special programs for such students. Inspire is just one of them. - INSPIRE कार्यक्रम का अंतिम चरण AORC कार्यक्रम या अनुसंधान करियर के लिए सुनिश्चित अवसर है। इस कार्यक्रम को आगे फेलोशिप और फैकल्टी अवार्ड में विभाजित किया गया है। 27-32 वर्ष आयु वर्ग के आवेदकों को विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी में अनुसंधान और विकास विभागों में इंटर्नशिप के अवसर मिलेंगे। भारत सरकार द्वारा सुझाई गई परियोजनाओं के लिए काम करने में सक्षम होने से तीन युवा प्रतिभाओं को बहुत अच्छा प्रदर्शन मिलेगा और उन्हें प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा। डॉक्टरेट की पढ़ाई करने वाले छात्रों को 1000 फ़ेलोशिप और 1000 इंटर्नशिप के अवसर दिए जाएंगे।

SHE – Scholarship for Higher Education

Eligibility Criteria to apply for Inspire Scholarship
The following eligibility criteria will be considered by the Department of Science and Technology or DST while selecting the beneficiaries for this program:
- The student must be a citizen of India.
- The student must score good enough marks to place him/her in the top 1% of class XII result.
- The student must be willing to do courses in natural and basic sciences.
- Students who have secured a rank in the top 10,000 in an exam like JEE.
- Those who are willing to do integrated course are also eligible.
- Students selected for the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) program are also eligible.
- National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholars, International Olympiad medalists and Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars studying in UG or PG courses are also eligible.
Required Documents
To apply for INSPIRE scholarship, students must have the following documents:
- Passport size photo
- Digital or scanned signature
- Aadhar card
- Caste Certificate, if applicable
- 12th class result mark sheet
- For Birth Certificate, 10th Class Marksheet
- Endorsement Certificate is a mandatory document. It should be as per the given format and should be signed by the Principal of the College or the Director of the Institute or the Registrar of the University
- If the state or central board provides eligibility note or advisory note, verify the same.
- Certificate descriptive rank or award in JEE Main or Advanced or NEET or KVPY or JBNSTS or NTSE or International Olympic medalists. If the student has not attempted any of these exams, then they do not necessarily need to attach any such document.
- Photocopy of bank passbook
If the application is incomplete it will be rejected. Students are suggested to fill the application form carefully.
Inspire Scholarship Application Process Online
Follow the steps below to apply for the scholarship under the INSPIRE programmes:
Registration
Users must first register themselves on the INSPIRE portal. Once they are successfully registered, they can sign in and apply for any part of the program including scholarships. To register, follow these steps:
- Open the official web portal of INSPIRE Scholarship at online-inspire.gov.in.
- On the frontpage click on “New User” given below the sign in form.
- In the registration form, fill all the details marked with “*”. These are mandatory. Form with incomplete details will not be submitted.
- Select the eligibility criteria.
- Create a password of minimum 8 characters and maximum 20 characters. Security Password must have at least one uppercase, one lowercase, one numeric and one special character.
- Read the captcha code and enter the correct code in the box below.
- Press “Submit”.
- An activation link will be created on the mentioned email account. Use the link to activate the account.
