MOMA Scholarship 2024: The Ministry of Minority Affairs established the MOMA Scholarships, which are awards to minorities. Students from the minority communities of Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jainites, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) can apply for pre-matric, post-matric, and merit-cum-means scholarships for professional and technical courses through the MOMA scholarship programme. 1. Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

In order to be eligible for this pre-matric minority scholarship, candidates must have a family income of no more than INR 1 lakh and a final exam score of no less than 50%.
2. Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
Minority students enrolled in classes 11 through PhD programmes may apply for the post-matric scholarship programme. The candidates’ equivalent grades or marks in the previous final exam should not have been less than 50%, and their family income cannot exceed INR 2 lakh. The national minority scholarship recipients receive maintenance payments of up to INR 1200 per month in addition to a scholarship of up to INR 10,000 per year.

3. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses (CS)
The MOMA scheme’s merit-cum-means scholarship is intended for students who want to pursue graduate or postgraduate courses in professional or technical fields. 4. Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for Minority Girls
The MOMA scheme’s Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship is designed to identify, assist, and support female students from national minorities who are unable to complete their education due to a lack of funding. Up to INR 6,000 in scholarships are available for students in Classes 9 through 12. The applicant’s family income cannot be more than INR 2 lakhs to be eligible for this scholarship. MOMA Scholarships: Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for Minority Girls
Class: Classes 9 to 12
Scholarship Amount: The amount of the scholarship will be INR 5,000 each for Classes 9 and 10, and INR 6,000 each for Classes 11 and 12.
Note: The Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses has 85 reputable premier institutions on its list. The full cost of their courses may be reimbursed to certain students at these institutes.
MOMA Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria
Students from minority communities must be enrolled in a government or private school in India and be chosen by the relevant state government or union territory administration through transparent notification in order to be eligible to apply for the national minority scholarships. The specifics of the qualifying requirements are emphasised below.
1. Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
Educational Qualifications:
- Students must be studying in classes 1 to 10.
- Students must have scored at least 50% in the previous final exam.

MOMA Scholarships: Terms and Conditions
While applying for these minority scholarships, candidates must abide by a few rules and regulations. Some of them are highlighted in detail below.
- Girls from every minority community in a state or UT are eligible for 30% of these scholarships. If there aren’t enough female applicants, the scholarships can be transferred to male candidates from the same community.
- A family could only have one scholarship intended for minorities, no more than two per student.
- Attendance in class is required on a regular basis.
- The student’s scholarship may be cancelled or suspended if they violate any of the terms of the scholarship or the rules of the institute or school.
- For the purpose of receiving a scholarship, candidates are required to provide accurate information; otherwise, the scholarship will be revoked. The responsible state or UT government gets the scholarship money back if the candidate has received it.
- Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the candidates receive the scholarship money directly into their bank accounts.
- If candidates are receiving benefits from the MOMA scholarship programme, they are not eligible to receive benefits from any other scholarship programme.
