MOMA Scholarship 2024: The Ministry of Minority Affairs established the MOMA Scholarships, which are awards to minorities. Students from the minority communities of Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jainites, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) can apply for pre-matric, post-matric, and merit-cum-means scholarships for professional and technical courses through the MOMA scholarship programme. The annual scholarship amount awarded to the recipients of these national minority scholarships is up to INR 20,000. For technical or professional courses at the graduate or postgraduate level, the Government of India plans to award 30 lakh scholarships under the pre-matric scholarship scheme, 5 lakh scholarships under the post-matric scholarship scheme, and 60,000 scholarships under the merit-cum-means scholarship.
The scholarship was established to aid minority students in their pre-matriculation education. Students in Classes 1 through 10 can receive up to INR 600 each month from the programme. In order to be eligible for this pre-matric minority scholarship, candidates must have a family income of no more than INR 1 lakh and a final exam score of no less than 50%.
Minority students enrolled in classes 11 through PhD programmes may apply for the post-matric scholarship programme. The candidates’ equivalent grades or marks in the previous final exam should not have been less than 50%, and their family income cannot exceed INR 2 lakh. The national minority scholarship recipients receive maintenance payments of up to INR 1200 per month in addition to a scholarship of up to INR 10,000 per year.

The MOMA scheme’s merit-cum-means scholarship is intended for students who want to pursue graduate or postgraduate courses in professional or technical fields. Scholarships worth up to INR 20,000 are awarded to the chosen students annually. The applicant’s family income cannot be more than INR 2.5 lakhs to be eligible for this national minority scholarship. In order to be eligible for this minority scholarship, applicants must also have received at least 50% of the possible points in their previous final exam.
The MOMA scheme’s Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship is designed to identify, assist, and support female students from national minorities who are unable to complete their education due to a lack of funding. Up to INR 6,000 in scholarships are available for students in Classes 9 through 12. The applicant’s family income cannot be more than INR 2 lakhs to be eligible for this scholarship. Girls from one of the national minority groups who are enrolled in classes 9 through 12 are eligible to apply. In order to be eligible for this minority scholarship, applicants must also have received at least 50% of the possible points in their prior final exam.
The financial aid awarded to the minority scholarship recipients covers all course costs, including tuition, maintenance allowance, and course fees. Students receive the maintenance allowance for ten months during the academic year. The scholarship amounts are broken down in detail below.

Note: The Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses has 85 reputable premier institutions on its list. The full cost of their courses may be reimbursed to certain students at these institutes.
Students from minority communities must be enrolled in a government or private school in India and be chosen by the relevant state government or union territory administration through transparent notification in order to be eligible to apply for the national minority scholarships. The applicants’ financial circumstances are taken into consideration when choosing the recipients of this minority scholarship. The older applicant is given preference in cases where their financial circumstances are similar.
