Eligibility for PM Yashasvi Scholarship

Pre-Matric Scholarship

  • The Pre-Matric Scholarship is only available to full-time students studying in Government Schools in Classes IX and X.
  • The annual gross sum of all sources of income does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000.
  • The pupils would receive a cumulative annual academic allowance of Rs. 4,000.
  • Released to the States and Union Territories for the 2023–2024 fiscal year, the total amount of Rs 32.44 crore will allow them to carry out the Scheme till January 18, 2024.

Post-Matric Scholarships

  • These scholarships support post-matriculation or post-secondary students in completing their education.
  • The annual gross sum of all sources of income does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000.
  • Depending on the type of course, students receive an academic allowance that can range from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000.
  • Released to the States and Union Territories for the 2023–2024 fiscal year, the total amount of Rs 387.27 crore would allow them to carry out the Scheme through January 18, 2024.

Top Class School Education

  • The project enables qualified children from OBC, EBC, and DNT categories to receive financial help for their education, starting in Class 9 and continuing through Class 12, ensuring that they obtain a top-notch education.
  • The total gross revenue for the year from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000.
  • For students in classes 9 and 10, the maximum scholarship amount is Rs. 75,000; for students in classes 11 and 12, it is Rs. 1,25,000. Scholarships are given to pay for various costs specified by the institution in addition to tuition, room, and board.
  • January 31, 2024, is the deadline for submitting applications for the Scheme via the National Scholarship Portal.

Top-Class College Education

  • The program seeks to recognize and promote high-quality education among students who fall into the OBC, EBC, and DNT categories by providing full financial support.
  • The annual gross sum of all sources of income does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000.
  • Financial assistance for scholars admitted to the approved schools will pay for (a) full tuition and non-refundable fees (up to a maximum of Rs. 3.72 lakhs per student annually for private sector flying clubs for Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses and up to Rs. 2.00 lakhs per student annually for private sector schools). (b) living expenses, paid to the recipient at a rate of Rs. 3,000 per month for each student; (c) books and stationery, paid to the recipient at a rate of Rs. 5,000 per year for each student; and (iv) a brand-new, top-of-the-line laptop or computer, up to a maximum of Rs. 45,000 for each student as one-time assistance during the course.

Building of an OBC Boys’ and Girls’ Hostel

  • To improve the quality of education available to students from socially and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds, especially those from rural areas, the scheme aims to establish hostel facilities. This will allow the students to pursue secondary and post-secondary education at government schools, universities, institutions, and institutes that are reasonably located.
  • To carry out the Scheme through December 2023 in the fiscal year 2023–2024, a total of Rs 12.75 crore has been made available to the States and Union Territories.
