Students who are residents of Maharashtra state are eligible to apply for the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj scholarship. The following list includes the remaining requirements for eligibility to submit an application for the scholarship:
- The candidate must reside in the state of Maharashtra or be a resident near the Karnataka–Maharashtra boundary.
- Eligibility for this award requires completion of class 12 coursework or passing the board exams.
- Must be a member of the Maratha people.
- At a college or institution that is permanently unaided, partially aided, government-assisted, non-government aided, or partially aided, they should be pursuing any professional or non-professional course that has been approved by the DHE.
- The applicant’s total annual family income cannot be more than INR 8,00,000.
- The candidate needs to have enrolled in the course using the general quota.
- You cannot apply if you are a part-time, distance learning, or correspondence student.
- A family may only apply for the scholarship if their first two children are eligible.

- This scholarship program covers more than 605 courses in professional fields like engineering, medicine, and other subjects.
- The scholarship benefits almost 5 lakh students annually.
- All tuition fees are covered for students enrolled in professional programs in government-aided or non-government-aided schools who make less than INR 2,50,000 per year.
- 50% of the tuition for candidates pursuing professional courses in a college or institution that is partially, fully, or permanently unaided and whose annual income is less than INR 2,50,000 is covered.
- 50% of the tuition is covered for students enrolled in professional programs in government-aided or non-government-aided programs with an annual income between INR 2,50,000 and INR 8,00,000.
- 50% of the tuition for candidates enrolled in professional programs at a college or university that offers partial, full, or permanent assistance and has an annual income between INR 2,50,000 and INR 8,00,000 is covered.
- In government-aided, non-government-aided, partially aided, unaided, or permanent unaided colleges or institutions, students pursuing non-professional degrees with an annual income cap under INR 8,00,000 are eligible for 100% tuition cost coverage.
- INR 5,000 was spent on education.
- Exam fees are half paid for by students enrolled in professional courses.
- 100% of the exam fees are reimbursed to students enrolled in non-professional programs.
- A book and stationery allowance of INR 5,000.
