Aikyashree Scholarship: Aikyashree Scholarship has been started by the state of West Bengal for the meritorious students belonging to the minority communities of the state. The scholarship program is checked and controlled by WBMDFC (West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation). Aikyashree is an online scholarship scheme under WBMDFC. It focuses on the upliftment of minority communities which include Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis. It provides financial assistance to such deserving students to motivate them to continue with their higher studies.

An initiative of the Government of West Bengal, Aikyashree aims to strengthen the socioeconomic status of many minority communities by providing them educational opportunities at various levels from class I to PhD level. Aikyashree Scholarship is fully funded by the Government of West Bengal and is actively implemented since 2019. This includes all expenses such as school and college education fees as well as hostel accommodation fees and maintenance allowances.

Aikyashree Scholarship Benefits: ऐक्यश्री छात्रवृत्ति लाभ

• Provides financial aid to students belonging to minority communities to continue with their studies.
• A minimum of Rs. 1100 will be granted to a beneficiary per year.
• An additional amount of at least 10% will be provided to the students pursuing higher studies.
• Enhances the literacy ratio in the state.
• Helps the students to upgrade their skills.

• अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के छात्रों को उनकी पढ़ाई जारी रखने के लिए वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करता है।

Eligibility Criteria for Aikyashree

• Pre- Matric & Post- Matric
  • Bear Domicile Certificate of WB.
  • Must be studying in any approved by the Central/ State govt.
  • Minimum of 50% marks in the previous examination.
  • The annual income of the family must be less than Rs. 2 Lakh.
  • Must be studying in WB institutes only.
• Merit-cum-Means
  • Bear Domicile Certificate of WB.
  • Must have admission in any professional/ technical course.
  • Minimum of 50% marks in the previous examination
  • The annual income of the family must be less than Rs. 2.5 Lakh.
  • WB residents studying outside the state can also apply.

How to Apply for Aikyashree Scholarship?

The applicants must follow the step-by-step procedure to apply for the scholarship. The application form is available on the official website of WBMDFC, the link to which is provided below.

The procedure can be divided into the following 6 stages:

Student Registration

• Interested and eligible students are required to visit the official portal of WBMDFC and click on the “New Registration” tab
• The students need to select the district of the institute they want to apply for.
• The students need to register themselves for the scholarship by filling in the following details carefully. Click “Submit and Proceed” at the end.

Scheme Eligibility

Fill in all the fields under the Scheme Eligibility section to check the student’s eligibility to qualify for the benefits of the scholarship.

Successful Registration

After successful registration, the students will be provided with a temporary user ID. Preserve the user ID for the next stage.
Check the registered email ID for the User ID and password.

Student Login

• Login using the provided User ID and password.
• If anyone wants to fill out the application form later, select the “Student’s Login” tab on the homepage and log in using the User ID and Password.
• Change the password for security purposes.

Final Submission (Online)

• The students need to fill in their basic, academic, and bank account information carefully and correctly. The application form is subject to be rejected if any information is found to be false.
• Review the application form and lock it.
• Print the application form for the next step.

Final Submission (Offline)

The students must submit a hard copy of the application form and a copy of the bank passbook that must include the details such as the student’s account number and branch IFSC code to the institute they have applied for.
