NSP Home Portal: NSP is a one-stop solution through which various services are facilitated starting from student application, application receipt, verification, processing and distribution of various scholarships to the students. The National Scholarship Portal has been taken up as a Mission Mode Project (MMP) under Digital India. The objective of this initiative is to provide a simple, mission-oriented, accountable, responsive and transparent ‘smart’ system to eligible applicants for fast and effective disbursement of scholarships directly into their accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) without any leakage.

NSP – National Scholarship Portal

Through the National Scholarship Portal, you can search and apply for over 50 scholarships offered by federal and state governments (NSPs). Additionally, scholarships are available through the portal from the University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education and other government agencies. There are scholarships available from the standard 1 to PhD level.

The National Scholarship Program (NSP) was established as a one-stop online platform for scholarship applications and payments under the National e-Government Scheme (NeGP). The scholarship is sent directly to the recipient’s bank account through a smart system, which ensures a quick and transparent process. SMART stands for Simplified, Mission-oriented, Accountable, Responsive and Transparent.

List of Documents Required for National Scholarship

The following documents are required to be uploaded for fresh applications under the Merit cum Means based scholarship if the amount of scholarship is more than Rs. 50,000/- per annum. It is not necessary to upload documents to apply under Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme.

• Student Photo.
• Verification form to be provided by the organization
• Income certificate issued by the competent authority in the State/UT Government.
• Self-attested community certificate from the applicant who has attained the age of 18 years and for others community certificate attested by the parent/guardian is required.
• Applicants for scholarships under MCM based scheme will have to upload a self-attested mark sheet indicating that the applicant has secured not less than 50% marks in the final qualifying examination at the Higher Secondary/Graduation level.
• Fee receipt of ‘current course year’.
• Student’s bank account number along with IFSC code of the bank branch (for a pre-matric scheme where students do not have their own bank account, parent/guardian can provide their own account details).
• Residential / Domicile Certificate.
• Scanned copies of the student’s Aadhaar number and if Aadhaar is not available, original student certificate from school/institution and bank passbook and Aadhaar Enrollment ID (if applied for Aadhaar).
• In case the school/institute is located in a state/UT other than the applicant’s domicile state/UT, then a genuine student certificate from the school/institute.

In Hindi:

• छात्र फोटो।
• संगठन द्वारा प्रदान किया जाने वाला सत्यापन प्रपत्र
• राज्य/संघ राज्य क्षेत्र सरकार में सक्षम प्राधिकारी द्वारा जारी आय प्रमाण पत्र।
• 18 वर्ष की आयु प्राप्त करने वाले आवेदक से स्व-सत्यापित सामुदायिक प्रमाण पत्र और अन्य के लिए माता-पिता / अभिभावक द्वारा प्रमाणित समुदाय प्रमाण पत्र आवश्यक है।
• एमसीएम आधारित योजना के तहत छात्रवृत्ति के लिए आवेदकों को एक स्व-सत्यापित मार्कशीट अपलोड करनी होगी जो यह दर्शाती हो कि आवेदक ने हायर सेकेंडरी / ग्रेजुएशन स्तर पर अंतिम योग्यता परीक्षा में 50% से कम अंक हासिल नहीं किए हैं।
• ‘चालू पाठ्यक्रम वर्ष’ की फीस रसीद।
• बैंक शाखा के आईएफएससी कोड के साथ छात्र का बैंक खाता नंबर (मैट्रिक पूर्व योजना के लिए जहां छात्रों का अपना बैंक खाता नहीं है, माता-पिता/अभिभावक अपना खाता विवरण प्रदान कर सकते हैं)।
• आवासीय / अधिवास प्रमाण पत्र।
• छात्र की आधार संख्या की स्कैन की गई प्रतियां और यदि आधार उपलब्ध नहीं है, तो स्कूल / संस्थान से मूल छात्र प्रमाण पत्र और बैंक पासबुक और आधार नामांकन आईडी (यदि आधार के लिए आवेदन किया गया है)।
• यदि स्कूल / संस्थान आवेदक के अधिवास राज्य / केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के अलावा किसी अन्य राज्य / केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में स्थित है, तो स्कूल / संस्थान से एक वास्तविक छात्र प्रमाण पत्र।

How to Apply for Scholarships through the NSP

Only if your present educational institution is listed on the portal are you eligible to apply for the NSP. You can contact your institute to start the registration procedure if it isn’t already.

The steps required to apply for NSP are as given below:

• Visit the official website of NSP at https://nsp.gov.in/
• Click on the “New Registration” button on the top navigation tab
• Read the guidelines carefully
• Tick on the boxes at the bottom of the page to show you have read and agreed to the guidelines
• Click on “Continue”
• Fill in the required details
• Click on “Register”
• A student application ID and password will be sent to your registered mobile number

How to Login on NSP portal:

Once you have completed the registration process as described above, you can start the log-in process with the steps given below:

• Click on the log-in button on the website of NSP
• Enter the application ID and the password that was sent to your registered mobile number
• Click on ”Application Form”
• Fill in all the required details
• Click on the button ”Save and Continue”
• Now add the scheme details and your contact details
• Upload the necessary documents
• Click on ”Save as Draft” first to verify and check all details first
• Click on ”Final Submit”

How do I renew my NSP Scholarship 2022-23?

• Login to your account AY:2022-23
• In case of course completion, you cannot apply for renewal.
• Students eligible for renewal are advised not to apply in the new category as duplicate applications will be rejected by the NSP. If you want to apply for fresh, withdraw your renewal application from NSP.

How do I check my NSP 2.0 status?
Students can check the status of their online application by submitting their Permanent ID and Date of Birth and opening the “Check Your Status” link.

Is the NSP scholarship amount credited?
If successfully verified, the scholarship amount will be credited directly to the student’s account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Know the current status of NSP scholarship payment through the portal.

Can I apply for 2 scholarships?
If you are applying for an NSP scholarship then you cannot apply for two scholarships at a time as it is a criterion for NSP that if you are taking one of the scholarships then you can avail of any other scholarship can.

Can I apply for NSP in the second year?
Are only first-year undergraduate students eligible to apply? Yes, only those students who have passed Class XII (CBSE Board) or equivalent examinations from State Boards for the current year are eligible to apply.
