Pre-Matric Scholarship: The Government of India spends a major part of its resources on the development of various religious minorities in India. Communities including Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis (Parsis) and Jains have been notified as minority communities by the government. Under the purview of the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA), the government regulates various development programs aimed at the upliftment of minority communities. Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities is one of the many important scholarships provided by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. This MOMA scholarship is exclusively for the children of minorities studying in classes 1 to 10. The government provides this scholarship every year so as to reduce the financial burden of education for the parents of minority communities. Due to the rising cost of education, there has been a proportionate increase in the drop-out rates of students. The aim of such a scholarship is to reduce this rising dropout rate.

अल्पसंख्यकों के लिए प्री-मैट्रिक छात्रवृत्ति अल्पसंख्यक मामलों के मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार द्वारा प्रदान की जाने वाली कई महत्वपूर्ण छात्रवृत्ति में से एक है। यह MOMA छात्रवृत्ति विशेष रूप से कक्षा 1 से 10 तक पढ़ने वाले अल्पसंख्यकों के बच्चों के लिए है। सरकार हर साल यह छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान करती है ताकि अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के माता-पिता के लिए शिक्षा के वित्तीय बोझ को कम किया जा सके। शिक्षा की बढ़ती लागत के कारण, छात्रों की ड्रॉप-आउट दरों में आनुपातिक वृद्धि हुई है। इस तरह की छात्रवृत्ति का उद्देश्य इस बढ़ती ड्रॉप-आउट दर को कम करना है।
Pre-matric scholarship for minorities was started with an aim to encourage parents from minority communities to send their children to schools and to ensure that all children have access to basic education till class 10. For those unaware of NSP, it is a one-stop solution for all the scholarships provided by the Central Government. NSP provides a single automated platform for scholarship application, receipt, sanction and disbursement.

Students selected for this MoMA scholarship will receive financial assistance towards admission/tuition fees as well as maintenance allowance.

Can we give bank accounts to parents for scholarships?
The bank account details of the candidate should be there, but if the candidate is a minor then he/she can upload his/her father’s bank details.
Can a student apply for both National and State scholarships?
No, you can apply for only one Govt. Scholarship as applying for a scholarship under National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is required to apply under State Scholarship Portal (SSP) as applying under SSP requires an NSP ID. Only those students who are not included in NSP will come under the purview of SSP.
What are pre-matric and post-matric?
Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme – This scholarship scheme is for the students of classes 1st to 10th. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme – This scholarship scheme is for the students of class 11th, 12th and above and includes courses like ITI, BSc, BCom, BTech, Medical etc.
