Karnataka State Government has come up with a new scholarship scheme for those people who want to get financial assistance to continue their education. This scholarship is exclusively available from the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka. Meritorious students from backward categories are welcome to apply for the Vidyasiri Scholarship Scheme to help them continue their education. The submission of application form for the scholarship program has started. To apply for this scholarship, the applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of Karnataka.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the scholarship the applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria:-
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen and must be a resident of the state of Karnataka.
- He should have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years.
- The candidate must belong to the backward class category and must attach a valid caste certificate as proof.
- Applicant must have completed their graduation/post graduation/professional/professional post graduate degree by 2019.
- He/she should belong to reserved category like SC/ST/OBC/EBC.
- Students must have secured at least 90% marks in the last qualifying examination from any government-recognised board.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 75% attendance in the college for crediting the scholarship fund.
- Candidates must link Aadhaar card with bank account as scholarship amount is deposited directly into bank account.
- The annual family income of applicants under Prakash Yojana (SC/ST) should not exceed Rs.2,50,000 from all sources.
- The yearly family income of the candidates under 2A, 3A and 3B schemes (OBC/EBC) should not exceed Rs.1,00,000 from all sources.
पुरस्कार विवरण: Vidya Siri Scholarship
इस छात्रवृत्ति में निम्नलिखित पुरस्कार प्रदान किये जायेंगे:-
- एसएसएलसी श्रेणी के तहत छात्रों के लिए 1000 छात्रवृत्तियां प्रदान की जाती हैं।
- कक्षा 12 श्रेणी के तहत छात्रों के लिए 500 छात्रवृत्तियाँ प्रदान की जाती हैं।
- स्नातक/स्नातकोत्तर (सामान्य पाठ्यक्रम) करने वाले उम्मीदवारों को अलग से 500 छात्रवृत्तियाँ प्रदान की जाती हैं।
- व्यावसायिक स्नातक डिग्री/व्यावसायिक स्नातकोत्तर डिग्री (तकनीकी, चिकित्सा और अन्य संबंधित विज्ञान) प्राप्त करने वाले उम्मीदवारों को 500 छात्रवृत्तियाँ प्रदान की जाती हैं।
- एसएसएलसी उम्मीदवारों को 10,100 रुपये की छात्रवृत्ति राशि मिलती है।
- कक्षा 12 के उम्मीदवारों को 15,000 रुपये की छात्रवृत्ति राशि मिलती है।
- स्नातक की डिग्री हासिल करने वाले उम्मीदवारों को 20,000 रुपये का छात्रवृत्ति अनुदान मिलता है।
- स्नातकोत्तर पाठ्यक्रम करने वाले उम्मीदवारों को 25,000 रुपये की छात्रवृत्ति राशि मिलती है।
- प्रतिभा पुरस्कार छात्रवृत्ति योजना सीधे चयनित उम्मीदवार के बैंक खाते में छात्रवृत्ति राशि जमा करती है।
