Ashirwad Scholarship: Punjab Government has started a new scheme named Ashirwad Scholarship to encourage SC ST OBC category students to pursue further studies. The main objective of starting the Aashirwad Scholarship is to provide educational opportunities to economically weak students. The main aim of starting the scholarship is to provide financial assistance so that they can fulfill their dream without thinking about any financial constraints. Objective Of Ashirwad Scholarship

As we all know that there are many students who are not able to pursue higher education due to weak economic condition and their dream to continue their educational stay is unfulfilled. Keeping this in mind, the Punjab government has started a new scheme called Aashirwad Scholarship. Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to those students who want to continue their higher education like graduation or post-graduation. With the help of this scheme, students will be able to pursue education without thinking about any financial constraints. The main objective of starting this scheme is to provide educational opportunities among the poor students of the state and make their future bright.

Rewards Under Ashirwad Scholarship

The following rewards will be given to the selected students under Ashirwad Scholarship according to the category as

Post Matric Scholarship For SC ST

Group 1:-

UG/PG Level in Medical, Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance/Administration, Computer Science/Applications, Commercial Pilot License, PG Diploma Courses in Management & Medicine, CA, ICWA, CS, ICFA, LLM, MPhil/Ph.D./Post-Doctoral Programs.

Rewards

Maintenance allowance of Rs. 1200 to hosteller and Rs. 550 to day scholars. Thesis printing charges of Rs. 1600 Study tour charges of Rs. 1600 Book allowance of Rs. 1200 Reader allowance of Rs. 240  

Ashirwad Scholarship Rewards

Group 2:-

Vocational Courses for Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Pharmacy, Nursing, LLB, BFS, Mass Communication, Hotel Management and Catering, Travel, Tourism, Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition & Dietetics, Commercial Arts, and Financial Services for which the minimum level of study is class 12, and other PG courses like MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed, and MPharma are not included in Group 1.

Rewards

Maintenance allowance of Rs. 820 to hosteller and Rs. 530 to day scholars. Thesis printing charges of Rs. 1600 Study tour charges of Rs. 1600 Book allowance of Rs. 1200 Reader allowance of Rs. 240

Group 4:-

All non-degree post-matric courses with a minimum level of study of class 10 such as class 11/12 (both general and vocational stream)/ ITI/ 3-year Diploma in Polytechnic etc.

Rewards

Maintenance allowance of Rs. 380 to hosteller and Rs. 230 to day scholars. Thesis printing charges of Rs.1600 Study tour charges of Rs. 1600 Book allowance of Rs. 1200 Reader allowance of Rs. 160  

Post Matric Scholarship For OBC

Group 1:-

UG/ PG level courses in Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design,  Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary and allies sciences, Management, Business Finance/ Administration, Computer Science/ Applications, Commercial Pilot Licence,  PG diploma courses in Management and Medicine, CA, ICWA, CS, ICFA, LLM, MPhil/Ph.D./ Post-doctoral Programmes.

Groups 2:-

Professional courses leading to Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in Pharmacy, Nursing, LLB, BFS, Mass Communication, Hotel Management & Catering, Travel, Tourism, Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition & Dietetics, Commercial Arts, Financial Services for which minimum level of study is Class 12 and other PG courses not covered in Group 1 such as MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed, MPharma

Ashirwad Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Aashirwad Scholarship Scheme is available for the natives of Punjab. They must meet the requirements to apply for the scholarship. Listed below are the Ashirwad Scholarship eligibility criteria:

  • Candidate must be Punjab domicile belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC.
  • Students must have passed class 10th from a Government/Private recognized College or Board of Secondary Education in Punjab.
  • The age of the applicant should not be less than 17 years while applying for Aashirwad Scholarship Punjab.
  • The annual family income of the SC/ST candidate should not exceed Rs.2,50,000 from all sources.
  • The annual family income of the OBC applicant should not exceed Rs.1,00,000 from all sources.
  • Students pursuing distance education/correspondence courses can apply for Aashirwad Scholarship.
  • Applicants pursuing post-graduation in medicine can apply for Aashirwad Scholarship, provided they are not practicing during the course.
  • The student applying for Aashirwad Scholarship should not be receiving any other scholarship benefit from any other source.

Ashirwad Scholarship Renewal Process

All existing candidates must renew the Aashirwad Scholarship to continue receiving the benefits. They should submit the Ashirwad Scholarship Renewal Application Form every year on the portal. However, they must have a minimum attendance of 75% in the previous academic year. Ashirwad Scholarship Renewal Process is explained below:

  • For renewal candidates should visit the Punjab Ashirwad Scholarship Portal.
  • Applicants should log in with their existing Ashirwad Scholarship login details.
  • Students should make any changes/modifications to Aashirwad Scholarship Application Form if required.
  • Finally, the candidate should verify and ‘Submit’ the revised Ashirwad Scholarship Application Form.
  • A copy of the submitted application form must be taken for future reference.
  • Candidates can check the status of the Aashirwad Scholarship on the portal.

What are the fees for the Punjab Scholarship?

When should I start applying for the scholarship in 2023?
Federal Student Aid recommends that students begin researching for scholarships the summer after their junior year of high school. If you have the time and energy, you should start even earlier than that. Each scholarship has different rules and different deadlines. And some even require submissions a year prior to starting college.

Can I apply for National Scholarship in 3rd year?
No, a student will be considered for scholarship only in the year of commencement of his/her course. And, the only renewal will be allowed for the next year.
