CCRT Scholarship: CCRT Scholarship is an initiative of the Center for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), an autonomous institute under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. CCRT implements CCRT Scholarship to provide facilities to children in the age group of 10-14 years in view of achieving its goals and following its values. The centre prepares training programs for students across the country. Around 650 CCRT scholarships are awarded by the organization every year. In addition, CCRT also organizes special programs and scholarships for training physically or mentally challenged students. This scholarship is also reserved for students belonging to Tribal Culture (ST), descendants of families practising traditional arts, Persons with Disabilities (Divyang) and candidates applying in the field of creative writing/literary arts.

The Center for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) is one of the primary institutions working towards linking education with the diverse Indian culture. The institution was established in 1979 under the chairmanship of the Late Smt. Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay and Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan. The ultimate and prime objective of the organization is to provide integrated education committed to the holistic development of children including spiritual, emotional and cognitive development. To fulfil its objective, CCRT has introduced CCRT Scholarship for the students. Its headquarter is located in the country’s capital- New Delhi and it has 3 other regional centres located at Hyderabad, Guwahati and Udaipur to provide cultural education in a wider area.

Scholarship Information
This Scholarship is designed for students who are especially proficient in traditional performing arts. An initiative started to give importance to the art forms which are in the process of extinction. Every year around 650 fresh CCRT scholarships are awarded to meritorious students. These scholarships are distributed among the students according to their respective reserved categories in the following manner:
- 100 CCRT Scholarship for the students of tribal culture i.e. ST applicants.
- Note: Applicants must have a valid ST certificate issued and attested by a competent authority.
- 125 CCRT Scholarship for students belonging to families practising traditional art forms means that the student should belong to a Traditional Artist Family (TAF) that has been practising the art continuously for at least the last 3 generations.
- 20 CCRT Scholarships for Disabled applicants i.e. Divyang students having valid disability certificates.
- For students applying for 30 CCRT Scholarships in Creative Writing/Literary Arts or related fields, these applicants must have proof in the form of their original written work.
- The remaining 375 CCRT Scholarships will be treated as normal scholarships as applicable to all other applicants studying in any recognized school and meeting other eligibility requirements.
CCRT Scholarship- Eligibility Criteria
The general criteria for applicants to be eligible for the CCRT scholarship is to be proficient in the field of cultural arts. There are some other eligibility criteria to get a CCRT scholarship. Which aims to continue the legacy of Indian traditional art forms. Mentioned below are some of the eligibility criteria that students need to ensure before applying for the scholarship:
- The age of the applicant should be between 10-14 years.
- The applicant must be from a recognized school or belong to a Traditional Artist Family (TAF) to have undergone a specialized training course in various cultural fields such as drama/music/dance and traditional forms of craft or literary activities etc. Needed
- The applicant must have a basic educational qualification and background.
- Keeping in view the fact that the CCRT scholarship is specially designed for students who wish to receive comprehensive and advanced training in a traditional art form of their choice, in order to be considered for the scholarship, students must possess proficiency and Must have a degree.
- The applicant should have received at least 5 years of professional training from his/her mentor/teacher/institute. The applicant must submit a certificate to verify the same, attested by the present Guru/Teacher/Institution as well as the former Guru/Teacher/Institution (if any), attached with the application.

CCRT Scholarship-Award Details
CCRT Scholarship honours and rewards talented students to motivate them to pursue these endangered art forms in future. Several young artists are selected and placed to train in their respective cultural fields. From a compatible institute, which facilitates the academic studies of the students along with their training under an approved institute/guru/teacher. The decision taken by the CCRT with regard to the course of study and selection of teacher/mentor shall be final.
Then the payment of the CCRT Scholarship is effected through NEFT/ECS/RTGS. Into the authorized bank account of the scholarship holder’s parent or guardian. It will start from the date of admission of the applicant or the date specified by the CCRT. Allocated scholarship awards are awarded to the selected scholars in the following manner:
- INR 3,600 per annum as a scholarship grant.
- Reimbursement of the actual tuition fee of Guru/Teacher paid by the applicant subject to a maximum of INR 9,000 per annum (fee slip to be submitted to the CCRT by the parent/guardian of the student).
- The duration of the CCRT scholarship is initially for 2 years and is thereafter revised either on the basis of the completion of the first-degree level of education of the scholar or till the age of 20 years, whichever is earlier. CCRT scholarship revision will be subject to the scholar making and maintaining progress satisfactorily.
