Nabanna Scholarship 2024: The West Bengal government launched the Nabanna Scholarship Scheme with the goal of providing financial assistance to worthy students who have passed any university examination (UG/PG) or the Madhyamik (Class 10), Higher Secondary (Class 12), or both. Only students who meet the eligibility requirements and are West Bengal permanent residents are eligible for this scholarship. Through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, the programme offers worthy people in West Bengal significant support each year so they can pursue their dreams of education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Domicile: West Bengal should be the students’ permanent home.
  • Education: The candidates must have passed their most recent exam from a West Bengal board, council, or university that is recognised. Moreover, they need to be presently enrolled in an approved school in the state of West Bengal. They had to have won.
    • a cumulative score in the Madhyamik (Class 10) exam of 50% or higher but less than 60% for the +2 level.
    • a final Higher Secondary (Class 12) exam score of at least 50% but not more than 60% for undergraduate study.
    • a cumulative GPA of 50% or higher but less than 53% for postgraduate work.
  • Income: The student’s family’s annual income should not exceed INR 1,20,000.
  • Other: During the past year, the candidates cannot have received any other federal, state, or local government scholarship or stipend for the same course or stage of study.

List of Documents Needed

Students who wish to apply for the Nabanna Scholarship must include a set of supporting documents with their application. Among these documents are

  • Photocopy of tuition/admission fees book
  • Copies of all previously completed exam mark sheets
  • Copies of the selection committee’s allotment letter and rank card (only for JEE or equivalent examination)
  • A copy of the MP/MLA’s recommendation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, detailing the student’s monthly family income

Selection Process and Fund Disbursement

  • Students will be chosen for this scholarship programme primarily on the basis of their family’s financial situation and their percentage of marks from their most recent exam. The evaluation and verification process may take three months or longer to finish after the application form is submitted.
  • The Chief Minister’s Office’s CMRF Cell will carefully review all of the scholarship applications. The application may occasionally be sent to the relevant Commissioner of Police or District Magistrate in Kolkata for additional review and validation.
  • The scholarship money will be deposited into each of the chosen students’ bank accounts.

Note: The approval of financial assistance is a temporary, one-time grant. The authority has the right to revoke the prior sanction for any reason at any time.

The steps involved in completing the online application for the Nabanna Scholarship are as follows:

  • Go to the official website: First, visit www.cmrf.wb.gov.in, the recently launched Nabanna Scholarship portal.
  • Select Financial Aid: After choosing Financial Aid, select Application for Financial Assistance for Education.
  • Read Instructions: Click on I Agee after carefully reading and following each instruction.
  • New Registration: Since this is your first time applying, you do not yet have an account. Click Haven’t registered yet to start the registration process.
  • Open an account:
    After confirming the OTP with your mobile number and creating a new password, click “Sign up.”
  • Dashboard Login: Click the login button after entering your password, captcha code, and registered mobile number on the login page.
  • Enter basic information: Click the submit button after providing some basic details like your name, father’s name, age and date of birth, district, pin code, family income, email, etc.
    Complete the necessary fields.
  • Enter education information: Type in the current course name, the name of the board or university, the details of the last qualifying exam (10/12), the total number of marks, etc.
  • Bank Information: After entering your bank’s name, account number, and IFSC code, click the submit button.
  • Upload Documents: Attach any required paperwork, including a self-declaration, recommendation/income certificate, class 10 admit card, grade report, copy of the admission receipt, etc.
  • Examine and submit the application. After making sure the files you uploaded and the information you provided are correct, click the submit button.
  • You will receive a reference ID after your application is successfully submitted; take note of it before downloading and printing the application form PDF.

Steps to check Nabanna Scholarship Status

You need to check the application’s status after submitting it online to see if it has been verified or not. To find out the status, take the following actions:

1: Go to @cmrf.wb.gov.in, the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund website.

2: Through the menu for applicant services. Choose the option to check the application status.

3: Click the Submit button after entering your registered mobile number, confirming the OTP, and entering the captcha code.

The Nabanna scholarship applications were previously only accepted offline. The Nabanna official website at the time was www.wbcmo.gov.in; however, online applications could not be submitted from there.
