Vidyasiri Scholarship: Vidyasiri Scholarship is awarded to students belonging to SC/ST, BC, OBC, and PWD categories. The backward Classes Welfare Department in Karnataka has started Vidyasiri Scholarship, and interested candidates can apply online through SSP Portal. Applicants must mandatorily link their Aadhaar number with their bank account before applying for the scholarship.
KARePass links the Fund, Bank, Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC), and College details to the Welfare Department to ensure the smooth processing of the scholarship and faster disbursement of funds. The Government of Karnataka will transfer the Vidyasiri scholarship amount directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Selected candidates can use the Vidyasiri scholarship amount to get admission to a junior college or to pursue higher studies. List of Vidyasiri Scholarship Schemes
Candidates pursuing post-matriculation courses in government, government-aided or residential colleges can apply for Vidyasiri Scholarship. The details of various schemes offered under the Vidyasiri Scholarship are as follows:
- Fee Concession for PMS FAAS, FC, and NUR: Under this Vidyasiri Scholarship Scheme, the government will bear the total course fee for any course opted by the candidate.
- Fee Concession and Hostel Accommodation for Post-Matric Students: Selected post-matric students will get fee concession and free hostel accommodation through this Vidyasiri Scholarship Scheme.
- Merit Award for SSLC and PUC: Applicants who have scored more than 90% marks in their class X and PUC board exams can avail the benefits of this Vidyasiri Scholarship Scheme.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates must ensure that they fulfill all the requirements before applying for Vidyasiri Scholarship. The scholarship is available only for Karnataka domiciles belonging to reserved categories. Vidyasiri Scholarship eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Candidates must be Indian Citizens.
- They should belong to SC/ ST/ BC/ OBC/ PWD or a minority
- Candidates must have passed the 10th class board exam.
- They should be pursuing post-matriculation courses in government-aided, local, or unaided institutions affiliated with Karnataka universities.
- Fee Concession for PMS FAAS, FC, and NUR
Candidates applying for PMS, FAAS, FC, and NUR schemes must fulfill the following criteria:
- Candidates must have above 75%.
- The family income of SC/ST students should not exceed INR 2,00,000 per annum.
- The family income of BC, OBC, and differently-abled students should not exceed INR 1,00,000 per annum.
- For the candidates applying for fresh hostel registration
The students who can apply for fresh hostel registration through Vidyasiri Scholarship are as follows:
- Applicants must belong to 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B or SC/ST, OBC, BC and PwD
- For candidates living in rural areas, the distance between home and college should be more than 5 km.
- Family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 per annum.
- Fresh applicants belonging to Category-I must obtain at least 40% marks, and renewal applicants must obtain at least 50% marks.
- Fresh applicants belonging to categories 2A, 3A, and 3B must obtain a minimum of 50% marks, and renewal applicants must obtain at least 60% marks.
Prathiba Puraskar scholarship
The candidates applying for the Prathiba Puraskar Vidyasiri scholarship scheme should meet the following requirements:
- They should have secured more than 90% marks in the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or PUC (Pre-University College) board exam.
- The students can avail the benefits of the Prathiba Puraskar Vidyasiri scholarship only once in a lifetime.
- The category-1 students’ family income limit for the Vidyasiri scholarship is INR 1,00,000 per annum.
- For candidates belonging to 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B categories, the family income should exceed INR 2,50,000 per annum from all sources.
How to Apply for Vidyasiri Scholarship?

Selection Process (चयन प्रक्रिया)
- छात्रों को विधिवत ऑनलाइन आवेदन पत्र भरना चाहिए और विद्यासिरी छात्रवृत्ति के लिए आवश्यक दस्तावेज अपलोड करने चाहिए।
- ऑनलाइन आवेदन पूरा करने के बाद, उन्हें विद्यासिरी छात्रवृत्ति आवेदन पत्र और दस्तावेजों की हार्ड कॉपी संबंधित संस्थानों में जमा करनी चाहिए।
- कॉलेज के प्राचार्य और निरीक्षण अधिकारी दस्तावेजों की समीक्षा करेंगे और उन्हें ऑनलाइन सत्यापित करेंगे।

- स्वीकृति के बाद अधिकारी ट्रेजरी-2 साफ्टवेयर के माध्यम से विद्यासिरी छात्रवृत्ति अनुदान अभ्यर्थी के बैंक खाते में हस्तांतरित करेंगे।
